Full Course: Creating and Communicating Your Vision for People Leaders

The objective of this course was to help people leaders understand the importance of having a team vision and help them create a vision statement that aligned with the organization and encouraged them to dream big and communicate clearly to drive team objectives. The course is called Creating and Communicating Your Vision. I asked managers to consider what their vision (not their mission) for their team was, and I created a step-by-step guide for leaders to create their team visions using prompts, word clouds, and instructions for gathering specific feedback.

After completing the eLearning, managers completed a follow-up activity and then shared back their results with their leadership cohort. Their managers received a Coaching Guide which provided an overview of the concepts and prompts to discuss in their next one-on-one. I also included a template for their completed vision statements, allowing us to compile everyone’s vision statements into one deck and share back during future discussions.

I receive more emails about this course than any other, because managers get excited about having a clear vision statement and want to share it back. I loved making this course because I was able to research, write (script), storyboard, animate, record and edit voiceover, and even do a little acting.
